Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 pounds beef roast such as ribeye or sirloin
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and paprika. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pat the beef roast dry with paper towels. Rub the Worcestershire butter mixture all over the roast, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  4. Place the roast on a rack in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for 15 minutes to develop a nice crust.
  5. Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F and continue roasting for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness (135°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium).
  6. Remove the roast from the oven and cover it loosely with aluminum foil. Let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.
  7. Slice the roast against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
