Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F or set your air fryer to 350°F and gather all your ingredients.

  3. Slice off the top of each apple, remove the core while leaving the bottom intact, creating a cup for the caramel.
  4. Make thin, crosswise slices down the apple, stopping just before the bottom to allow blooming.
  5. Fill each apple with two pieces of chewy caramel, then brush generously with the butter mixture.
  6. Place the apples in a greased baking dish and bake for about 30 minutes or air fry for 20 minutes.
  7. Check for tenderness a few minutes before cooking time ends, then remove when perfectly tender.
  8. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce.
