Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 15 oz pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can 15 oz black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can 15 oz kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can 15 oz diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper any color
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon about 4 slices
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pinto beans, black beans, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, barbecue sauce, chopped onion, chopped bell pepper, crumbled bacon, brown sugar, garlic powder, chili powder, and smoked paprika. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Transfer the bean mixture to a 2-quart baking dish and spread it evenly.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the beans are bubbly and slightly thickened.
  7. Let the baked beans cool for a few minutes before serving.
