Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add your penne pasta and cook according to package instructions for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat and add the sausage. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the BBQ sauce along with honey or maple syrup. Allow to simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Add the drained pasta into the skillet with the sausage and sauce. Toss gently for 1-2 minutes to coat the pasta thoroughly.
