Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strawberries diced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9-inch round baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute until smooth.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and diced strawberries.
  7. Starting from one long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut the log into 8 equal pieces and place them in the prepared baking dish.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  10. Once the rolls are done, let them cool for a few minutes before drizzling with the glaze. Serve warm.

  • For a richer flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg to the filling.
  • You can also substitute the strawberries with blueberries or raspberries for a different fruit twist.
