Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 jar 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  3. Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Drizzle a little olive oil over the meatballs for added moisture and flavor.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and browned on the outside.
  7. In the last 5 minutes of baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  8. Once the meatballs are done, add them to the marinara sauce and let them simmer for a few minutes to absorb the flavors.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
