  • 2 Pears thinly sliced, firm and ripe for optimal sweetness
  • 4 oz Gorgonzola Cheese crumbled, creamy and tangy flavor; goat cheese makes a nice alternative
  • 1/4 cup Honey adjust based on sweetness preference
  • 1/4 cup Walnuts chopped, adds crunch; pecans can be substituted
  • 1 handful Arugula provides freshness and a peppery kick
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil enhances flavor and prevents sticking
  • Freshly Cracked Black Pepper to taste for seasoning

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out your puff pastry or place the flatbread on the baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil evenly across the flatbread base.
  4. Layer the thinly sliced pears on top of the flatbread, slightly overlapping each piece.
  5. Sprinkle the crumbled Gorgonzola cheese over the pear layer evenly.
  6. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
  7. Drizzle 1/4 cup of honey over the flatbread immediately after baking.
  8. Add chopped walnuts and arugula on top, finishing with freshly cracked black pepper.
  9. Let cool for a minute before slicing and serve warm.
