Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 blend
  • 1/4 cup Jack Daniels whiskey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce tomato, and onion for toppings
  • Optional: BBQ sauce for drizzling

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Jack Daniels whiskey, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix gently until just combined; do not overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side.
  4. Flip the burgers and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach your desired doneness.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun and adding lettuce, tomato, onion, and a drizzle of BBQ sauce if desired.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider marinating the patties in the whiskey mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • You can substitute the cheddar cheese with your favorite cheese, such as pepper jack for a spicy kick or blue cheese for a bold flavor.
