  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • 4 strips crispy bacon or diced ham
  • 2 green onions

  • ½ cup sour cream or yogurt

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of thawed frozen sweet peas or drained canned peas.
  2. Chop 2 hard-boiled eggs and crumble around 4 strips of crispy bacon or diced ham into the bowl with peas.
  3. Chop 2 green onions and add them to the mixture.
  4. Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of black pepper, ½ teaspoon of salt, and ½ teaspoon of garlic powder.
  5. In a separate small bowl, combine ½ cup of mayonnaise and ½ cup of sour cream, blending them until smooth.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the Southern Pea Salad in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  7. Before serving, give the salad a gentle stir to redistribute the ingredients.
