Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted Irish butter in a small saucepan over low heat and brush it generously inside a 9x5 loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Add the shredded Irish cheddar cheese to the dry mixture and stir gently until well-coated.
- Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the beer. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Pour the thick batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- Drizzle the remaining melted butter over the top of the batter in the loaf pan.
- Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Prepare the garlic butter topping by melting 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, then stir in chopped parsley, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt.
- Once the bread is baked, brush the garlic butter topping generously over the warm bread.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
