Cooking Steps
- Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add 8 oz of short pasta and cook until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- In the same pot, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Whisk in 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour to create a roux.
- Gradually pour in 1 cup of heavy cream while whisking constantly. Add Boursin cheese and white cheddar cheese, stirring until melted.
- Gently fold in the drained pasta until coated with the cheese sauce, adjusting consistency with milk if needed.
- In a skillet, melt remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and toast 1 cup of plain breadcrumbs until golden.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer pasta mixture to a greased baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
