Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 pound broccoli florets
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 green onions sliced (for garnish)

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the broccoli florets with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread the broccoli evenly on a baking sheet.
  4. Roast the broccoli in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  5. While the broccoli is roasting, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
  7. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the shrimp and cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring to coat the shrimp evenly.
  8. Once the broccoli has roasted for 15 minutes, remove it from the oven and add the cooked shrimp on top.
  9. Return the baking sheet to the oven and roast for an additional 5 minutes to heat everything through.
  10. Remove from the oven, garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, and serve immediately.
