Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 3 cups Apples Choose firm varieties for the best sweetness and texture.
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Can substitute with coconut sugar for a healthier option.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Feel free to add nutmeg for extra flavor depth.
For the Wrapper
  • 12 sheets Rice Paper Avoid soaking for too long to maintain sturdiness.
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking Oil Melted coconut oil works well for a dairy-free version.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking pan
  • Parchment Paper

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Prepare your baking pan by lining it with parchment paper or lightly oiling it.
  2. Peel and slice the apples into thin pieces. In a mixing bowl, combine the apple slices with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Soak each rice paper sheet individually in warm water for about 10 to 15 seconds until soft.
  4. Place a softened rice paper sheet on a flat surface. Spoon 1–2 tablespoons of the apple mixture into the center and roll it tightly.
  5. Repeat until all rice paper sheets are filled and rolled. Place the rolls on the prepared baking pan.
  6. Brush both sides of each roll with cooking oil and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Let the rolls cool for a few minutes before serving warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or powdered sugar.
