- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Combine melted butter, minced garlic, dried thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Optional: Sear the chicken in a skillet over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Spread the rinsed rice evenly in the bottom of the greased baking dish.
- Place the chicken pieces on top of the rice and pour the chicken broth over it.
- Drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the chicken and rice mixture.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 40-45 minutes until chicken is 165°F (74°C) and rice is tender.
- Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and broil for an additional 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Let rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley or chives before serving.
