  • 2 cups Caputo Fioreglut Gluten-Free Flour Blend or a blend of almond flour and tapioca starch
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar coconut sugar can be a lower glycemic index substitute
  • 1 tablespoon Psyllium Husk Powder substitutions can include whole psyllium husks
  • 1 packet Instant Yeast or active dry yeast, dissolve in warm milk
  • 1 teaspoon Table Salt no direct substitution
  • 1 cup 2% Milk substitute with dairy-free milk for a dairy-free option
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (melted) use vegan butter for dairy-free
  • 1 tablespoon Oil can be replaced with applesauce for a lower-fat option
  • 1 large Egg for a vegan alternative, use a flax egg
For the Topping (Optional)
  • Sesame Seeds omit for a plain bun or sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a stand mixer, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, psyllium husk powder, instant yeast, and table salt.
  2. In another bowl, warm the milk, melted butter, and oil until it reaches 120–130°F. Add the egg and mix until combined.
  3. Combine the wet and dry mixtures in the stand mixer, mixing on medium speed for 2–3 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into four portions and shape each into a smooth ball.
  5. Place the dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, flattening them slightly.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm area for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Brush the buns with an egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown and an internal temperature of 205°F is reached.

Notes
