- In a stand mixer, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, psyllium husk powder, instant yeast, and table salt.
- In another bowl, warm the milk, melted butter, and oil until it reaches 120–130°F. Add the egg and mix until combined.
- Combine the wet and dry mixtures in the stand mixer, mixing on medium speed for 2–3 minutes until smooth.
- Divide the dough into four portions and shape each into a smooth ball.
- Place the dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, flattening them slightly.
- Cover with plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm area for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Brush the buns with an egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown and an internal temperature of 205°F is reached.
