For the Sauce
  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef Can substitute with ground turkey for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt Replace with sour cream if you prefer a similar texture.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese For a dairy-free option, use nutritional yeast instead.
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes Fresh tomatoes can be used for a fresher taste.
For the Pasta Base
  • 8 oz Pasta (any type) Consider whole wheat or gluten-free pasta for dietary needs.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Garlic powder can substitute if you don't have fresh on hand.
  • 1 medium Onion Shallots work well for a milder flavor in the sauce.

Equipment

  • large skillet

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat over medium heat until hot, then add lean ground beef. Cook for about 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally until the beef is browned and no longer pink.
  2. Once the beef is browned, add the diced onions and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
  3. Next, stir in the diced tomatoes and Greek yogurt, mixing thoroughly. Allow the mixture to cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until creamy and warmed through.
  4. Toss in your cooked pasta into the sauce mixture, ensuring that every piece is evenly coated with the creamy sauce. This step should take about 2 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese and stir continuously for about 2 minutes until melted and the sauce thickens.
  6. If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash of water or broth gradually, stirring continuously until the desired consistency is reached.
