Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, dark brown sugar, and maple syrup until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully combined.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- If desired, fold in pecans or white chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Allow to cool in pan before lifting out and slicing into squares.
