Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the diced onion until translucent, about 3-5 minutes. Then add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Sprinkle in taco seasoning and a splash of water. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Mix in the undrained chili beans and salsa or Rotel. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Spread half of the tortilla chips in the baking dish, add the beef mixture, and top with shredded cheese.
  6. Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let sit for a few minutes, then add desired toppings and serve.
