Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by placing a large skillet over medium heat and allow it to warm up for about 2 minutes. Swirl in a drizzle of oil to help in browning and to prevent sticking.
- Add the ground beef to the hot skillet and cook it for about 7–10 minutes until it’s fully browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic and let them cook for about 3–5 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
- Add your diced potatoes into the skillet along with salt, pepper, paprika, and dried oregano. Stir for about 1–2 minutes.
- Cover the skillet and reduce the heat slightly to medium-low. Cook for about 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally until fork-tender.
- Once the potatoes are tender, sprinkle a generous layer of shredded cheese over the top and cover to cook for another 3–5 minutes until melted.
- Remove from heat, let sit for a minute before serving hot. Optionally garnish with fresh herbs.
