Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center.
Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side.
Flip the patties, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
To assemble, spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise and 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each bun.
Place the cooked burger patty on top, followed by shredded lettuce, a slice of tomato, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
