Ingredients

  • 2 boneless pork chops about 1 inch thick, 6-8 ounces each
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water

Method

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  3. Add the pork chops to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F).
  4. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, cornstarch, and water.
  7. Pour this mixture into the skillet and stir well to combine. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, until it thickens slightly.
  8. Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them to coat. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.
  9. Remove from heat and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
