Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with aluminum foil, coating with cooking spray.
- Sauté finely diced onions in a skillet with butter until tender and translucent, about 5 minutes; let cool.
Mixing
- In a bowl, mix eggs and milk, add breadcrumbs, and let sit for 5-10 minutes to absorb moisture.
- Combine the breadcrumb mixture with ground beef, sautéed onions, ketchup or chili sauce, seasoning, salt, and pepper; mix gently.
Baking
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan, smoothing the surface.
- Bake for 40 minutes until browned on top.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing chili sauce, ketchup, and brown sugar.
- Spread the glaze over the meatloaf and return to the oven for an additional 15-30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
