Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 bell pepper sliced (any color)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Method

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let marinate for 15 minutes.

  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onion and cook for 2 minutes until softened.
  4. Add the minced garlic, bell pepper, and broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the oyster sauce and sesame oil. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the stir fry over cooked rice or noodles.
