Description

Delicious Greek turkey meatballs served with a refreshing tzatziki sauce, perfect for impressing dinner guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and golden brown.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the tzatziki sauce. In a medium bowl, mix together Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Once the meatballs are done, serve them warm with a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce on the side.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try adding feta cheese to the meatball mixture.
  • You can also serve the meatballs in pita bread with additional toppings like lettuce, tomato, and onion for a delicious wrap.
