- 4 large turkey wings (about 3–4 pounds)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the turkey wings.
- In a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the turkey wings and sear them for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove the wings and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook for about 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir in the dried thyme and rosemary. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Return the turkey wings to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over them. Cover the skillet with a lid or aluminum foil.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour. After an hour, remove the cover and bake for an additional 30 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken and the wings to become tender.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
- Serve the smothered turkey wings over rice or mashed potatoes to soak up the delicious sauce.
