Description

Sausage French Toast Roll-Ups are a delicious breakfast treat that combines the flavors of sausage and French toast in a fun, rolled-up format.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of white bread
  • 4 breakfast sausage links, cooked and crumbled
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

  1. Trim the crusts off the bread slices and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the crumbled sausage and 2 tablespoons of the sugar together.
  3. Place about 1 tablespoon of the sausage mixture on one end of each flattened bread slice and roll it up tightly.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter.
  6. Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture, ensuring they are fully coated, then place them seam-side down in the skillet.
  7. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Add more butter as needed for cooking.
  8. Once cooked, roll the French toast roll-ups in the remaining sugar and serve warm with maple syrup.

Notes

  • For a sweeter twist, add a sprinkle of powdered sugar on top before serving.
  • Try using different types of bread, such as whole wheat or cinnamon raisin, for added flavor.
