Description
Oven BBQ Ribs are tender, flavorful ribs baked to perfection with a delicious barbecue sauce glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 racks of baby back ribs (about 4 pounds total)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F. Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs by sliding a knife under it and pulling it off.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
- Rub this spice mixture all over both sides of the ribs.
- Place the ribs on the prepared baking sheet, bone side down. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of aluminum foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully take off the top layer of foil. Brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over the ribs.
- Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 30 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
- Once done, let the ribs rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, add a few drops of liquid smoke to the spice rub.
- You can also grill the ribs for a few minutes after baking to get a nice char.
- For a sweeter glaze, mix honey into the barbecue sauce before brushing it on.
