Description

A delicious baked recipe for Hot Honey Chicken featuring crispy skin and a sweet and spicy glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season them evenly with the spice mixture.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the honey, hot sauce, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using) until well combined.
  5. Place the seasoned chicken thighs on the wire rack, skin side up. Brush the hot honey mixture generously over each piece of chicken, reserving some for later.
  6. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the skin is crispy.
  7. In the last 5 minutes of baking, brush the chicken with the remaining hot honey mixture for extra flavor.
  8. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a milder version, reduce the amount of hot sauce and add more honey.
  • You can substitute chicken breasts for thighs if you prefer leaner meat.
  • Serve with a side of coleslaw or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
