Description
A delicious baked recipe for Hot Honey Chicken featuring crispy skin and a sweet and spicy glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup hot sauce (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season them evenly with the spice mixture.
- In another bowl, whisk together the honey, hot sauce, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using) until well combined.
- Place the seasoned chicken thighs on the wire rack, skin side up. Brush the hot honey mixture generously over each piece of chicken, reserving some for later.
- Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the skin is crispy.
- In the last 5 minutes of baking, brush the chicken with the remaining hot honey mixture for extra flavor.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a milder version, reduce the amount of hot sauce and add more honey.
- You can substitute chicken breasts for thighs if you prefer leaner meat.
- Serve with a side of coleslaw or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
