Description
Cinnamon Roll French Toast: A Decadent Twist on Breakfast Classics
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large cinnamon rolls (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Butter or cooking spray for the skillet
- Maple syrup for serving
- Powdered sugar for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by slicing each cinnamon roll into thick pieces, about 1-inch thick. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
- Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter or cooking spray to coat the surface.
- Dip each slice of cinnamon roll into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side. Let any excess mixture drip off.
- Place the soaked cinnamon roll slices onto the hot skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the skillet and keep warm while you cook the remaining slices.
- Serve warm, drizzled with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
- For an extra indulgent treat, add chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the egg mixture before soaking the cinnamon rolls.
- Try using flavored cream cheese frosting instead of maple syrup for a richer topping experience.
