Description
Delicious and easy-to-make cheesy garlic breadsticks perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F.
- Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Transfer to a greased baking sheet.
- Sprinkle garlic powder evenly over the dough, then top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Using a pizza cutter, slice the dough into strips, but do not cut all the way through.
- Brush the melted butter over the top and sprinkle with dried parsley.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add crushed red pepper flakes to the cheese topping.
- Experiment with different cheeses like cheddar or pepper jack for a unique flavor twist.
