Description

A quick and flavorful recipe for Beef with Oyster Sauce, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet. Add the oyster sauce, sugar, black pepper, and water. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Serve hot over cooked rice.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of red pepper flakes while stir-frying the vegetables.
  • Substitute the flank steak with chicken breast or tofu for a different protein option.
